What happens when you take a healthy dose of The Legend of Zelda, a dash of Metroid, mix in a handful of God Of War, throw in the end of the world, bake for a few years, delay it for another year, and then quietly release in March of 2010?
Darksiders is not original. It's not the prettiest game I played all year. It doesn't even have great voice acting or writing. But it is essentially an HD Zelda game with a deep, brutal combat system in a post apocalyptic, modern day setting. And I see no problems with that. Following yesterdays theme, put this one in the 'Next-gen versions of games that we aren't getting from Nintendo anymore' basket.
Buy it, play it, love it. And in the final seconds of the closing cinematic you'll be pumping your fist in the air in anticipation of the inevitable sequel too.
