OK, so Torchlight actually came out in 2009 for PC, but if you rock a Mac like I do, then too bad. No looting, no dungeon crawling, no clicking on enemies until they were dead. That is until Valve released their Steam digital distribution platform to Mac users back in May. Torchlight was one of the launch games, and I picked it up on day one.
The developers of Torchlight are clearly big Blizzard fans. The games play style is borrowed from Diablo, and its visual style is borrowed from World Of Warcraft, which makes it bright, fun and addictive as hell. The best part? Being able to send your pet back to town to sell off all of your crappy loot items while you get to keep hacking up goblins. Although it does make me wonder, what sort of shopkeeper is doing business with an animal?
